Off the beaten path in the city of Puerto Vallarta is a restaurant called La Esquina de los Caprichos. If you are in PV and have the slightest interest in Basque cuisine, notably pintxos, make sure you go here! The restaurant was recommended to me by friends who are quite familiar with the area. This little gem is only a 5 minute walk from the Plaza Armas, downtown Puerto Vallarta.
The interior of the restaurant had a lovely Basque feel to it.
As some of you may know, when you are eating these wonderful bite sized pintxos; aioli, bread, and oil are no longer a nutritional concern. Your taste buds will thank you for each bite and you will feel as though you've been transported to a traditional tapas bar in northern Spain.
The Galician octopus was so delicious, all that was missing was a cool glass of Albariño!
One can never visit a Spanish Tapas restaurant and forgo Papas Bravas! These were among the best I ever tasted.
View of Puerto Vallarta and the Bahía de Banderas from the front steps of La Esquina.
Just down the street from the cathedral and its bell tower.
