Whilst staying in the Var region of Provence, my travel partner and I decided to head down to Saint Tropez one evening for the sunset. Neither one of us had visited the infamous hot spot so touted by celebrities and who's who of the world, so we thought it would be fun to check it out. "We'll just go to go" is what we said, thinking it would be completely an over the top, look at me kind of place, but we were actually pleasantly surprised with the old town and its multi-billion dollar harbour. A little glamour is never a bad thing, right? Having decided to forgo dinner we opted instead to just have a leisurely evening walk in and amongst the streets, whilst capturing the sunset on the pier. A fabulous spot for shopping and people watching, Saint Tropez definitely has its charm.
The sunset coloured buildings and yellow bell tower of the little church, Notre-Dame de-l’Assomption. Inside the church you will find a sculpture of Saint Tropez himself.
"Égoïste"... Have you guessed the translation? What a fitting name for your boat, non?
Drive by reservation request on the Quai Suffren. Mais pourquoi pas?
Come and be seen at the Cafe de Paris!
If I had to pick, this would be it! Classy, elegant, and lean. What a beauty!
Sunset over the bay.
Another beauty.
The best restaurants are always on the side streets, away from the tourist laden front streets. This place looked divine.
I loved the colours of this building against the pink and blue sky.
Bonne nuit.
Although we only spent an evening in Saint Tropez, it was nice to finally put a face to a name. Next time I might just see if my friend Beyoncé and her hubby are available to take us out on their yacht!
Just kidding. :)
