Welcome to California Wine Country!
There is just something about this area that keeps me wanting to come back for more. I know, I've said that before, but... it's true! Last time we were there it was for a full week which was really the perfect amount of time. Well, actually, it's never enough time but we were able to do & see quite a bit with a week. I am so looking forward to another quick visit coming up in September, but for now, I can share what I've seen so far. Hope this post entices you to visit if you have not already been! :)

I love San Francisco. Have you been? It's another one of those places that begs to be revisited often, at least once a year. Do I visit once a year? No, no I don't but I will! California is a feel-good kind of state in general but San Francisco really feels good, at least for me. A combination of the great people, relaxed attitude, local food culture and all around creativeness of the city is I think, what makes it so special. As a tourist, there are many great things to see and do whilst visiting. Whether it's Fisherman's wharf, Alcatraz, Chinatown, Union Square, the Golden Gate, or a quick trip to wine country (which I'll write about next), there really is something for everyone. For me, it's the amazing food & wine culture and top-notch restaurant scene (surprise, surprise) that gets me most excited. Let's go!

London is calling my name. Each time I've been there is never enough time to let it all soak in. I am always left with a feeling of wanting to do, see, eat, drink, and learn more! On our most recent trip we were able to accomplish more than the time before (that being a whirlwind visit of only thirteen hours), but nonetheless this still wasn't enough! Among the highlights this time was our memorable visit to
La Petite Maison, featured
here, breakfast at The Wolseley, walking and biking through Regent Park and nearby Marylebone, and of course, perusing the high-end shopping scene at Harrods.

I love Vancouver. As a kid it was always one of those places I thought I would experience living in. The high-rise condos just seemed so cool and Robson was the hippest place to stroll with all its restaurants, boutiques, and hordes of people. Fast-forward a few years I started to think that Vancouver wasn't as great anymore, perhaps due to the never-ending rain and cloudiness I experienced on each visit. A few weeks ago however, I flew out with my mom to visit my sister and to celebrate mom's birthday. The sun shone. The water glistened. The birds sang. The flowers had bloomed. It was amazing. I loved it and now I want to move there yet again.
First stop was Thierry Patisserie. Highly recommended by a British chef friend of ours, I was eager to step inside and have a croissant experience à la française...

One of my go-to dinners, this flatbread is also an easy thing to prepare for last-minute entertaining. Because it takes no time at all, you'll even be able to whip up your own dough. Save one or both halves in the freezer then call your friends (and me) and tell them you're hosting the next Friday night pizza party. :) This dough is a great base for many different types of flatbread, get your creative juices flowing!
